Discover the pretzel difference

Bloom's Pretzels is a small team of passionate foodies who have been developing the world famous European-style soft pretzels since 2016. Since then, we've expanded to include more than 15 different flavour varieties and our popular frozen Ready-To-Bake pretzel dough.

Our Story

Bloom’s Pretzels began in 2008 with a passion for baking and a longing for the taste of traditional German soft pretzels. 


From 2016, our family of 5 worked together with Yvonne, the founder, and her family to learn the traditional way to make and bake delicious European-style pretzels. 


It’s been 5 years since and we’ve added our own family twist to Bloom’s Pretzels by leasing a new purposely built food-grade premises in Mt Roskill, Auckland and importing specialised equipment from around the world to help the growing demand for pretzels here. We work closely with other local bakery suppliers and the international pretzel community to assure our baked goods are looking, tasting and baking the best way possible. 


We still happily attend the weekend farmers markets in Howick and Clevedon where we started our journey. We love seeing our amazing customers every weekend and hearing their feedback about our new flavours. To keep up to date with us and our whereabouts, most of our customers follow us on social media - keeping us in the loop with our fellow stallholders and staying in close contact with our loyal pretzel fans! 

Our wholesale front grows steadily with new customers contacting us weekly and our continued growth outside of Auckland, with stockists reaching out to Christchurch - we’re constantly trying to grow our dream so we can further share our love for pretzels with more of New Zealand.




Karl is the hands-on owner with background in production management and creative development. Karl works in all departments - you may have seen him on deliveries or in the bakery helping with our daily production. 


Loan is a passionate crafts-woman and is a jeweller by trade, with a love for baking, cooking and sewing. She manages our pretzel production and baking (and is our best twister!) Loan also attends the Sunday stall at the Clevedon Farmers Market.


Leanna is our in-house creative with a background in digital design and passion for food. She takes care of our social media and all things design. Leanna also runs our Sunday stall at the Clevedon Farmers Market.


Liam is the assistant manager with a talent for putting systems in place, and a keen eye for detail and hence, keeps our admin and accounts in order. You'll also find him at our Saturday Howick Village market stall with his wife Clear.


Clear is a stylist and creative with a background in visual arts. She works part-time with her husband Liam at the Howick Village Market and takes the wonderful photos of our customers there, that you see on our instagram.
